Okay, so I likes my camera and I like taking pictures. Now, the problem is, as far as artistic-type pictures, what I really want to do is nude photography. Not, like, "OMG my dream job is playboy photographer LOL LOL" type of stuff, just... you know... classy, artistic nudes. Why? Cuz the female body is great, that's why.

So there's a few problems with this.

One, I lack equipment and studio space. I have nowhere indoors that I could do this, and at this point, it's looking like it's gonna be a good long time before I could afford anything like even a cheap backdrop setup. And hell, I've been selling stuff/trading in left and right so that I could finally afford that first new lens, a 50mm prime, and I'm selling/trading more in the hopes that I could possibly afford a half-decent light meter after the holidays. So, yes, equipment/location situation = not good.

Second, models. I would probably need volunteers, cuz without anything even remotely resembling a portfolio, I'll likely not be getting a professional (and I have no funding to hire one anyhoo). Also I've not done a whole heck of a lot in the way of people-photography so I need a lot of practice. And, it's nearly impossible for me to get anyone to pose for me - clothed or otherwise. Hell, I can hardly find anyone willing to model my jewelry for more than a few quick shots. So this is also a pretty big block.

Third, looking at the 'artistic nude' photography section here on DA, it seems that not a whole lot of people have a particularly clear idea of what's artistic and what's... well, porny. I'm not interested in porny kind of stuff. Not that I have a problem with it, it's just not what I'd want to do. And the point is, who will even take artistic, or at least somewhat classier, nudes seriously when the far more smut-oriented pics seem to reign supreme?

Ah well. I suppose there's always nature photography...
